They are given a time limit of three weeks in order to convince their chosen love interest to take them to prom. The players are presented as students within Spooky High, a high school in a world inhabited by monsters. At these gatherings, players may either sit with one or more love interests in an attempt to accumulate more Love Points with them sit with another player on the Love Log for a single heavy stat boost for the first player and many small stat boosts for the other or sit with Moss Mann and engage in gossip that will either increase their own stats or decrease that of another player. Another difference is the replacement of Monster Prom’s cafeteria events with campfire gatherings, which are similarly compulsory over the course of gameplay after several turns. Selecting your initial love interest is similar to Prom’s method, in which players are given a small selection of subjects that directly correspond to one of the main romantic options. Where Prom began with players taking a quiz to determine their beginning stats and the love interest they will initially pursue, Camp gives players much more variety by having them select from a large number of different items they will have packed, which grant different amounts and even combinations of stats. The first difference between the games is its pre-game preparation stage. Like its predecessor, the goal of Camp is to accumulate stats and attempt to successfully ask one of the game’s primary or secret love interests to the meteor shower at the end of the game, or initiate and play through other secret endings. Monster Camp’s gameplay is very similar to that of Monster Prom, with several key differences.
